Health is Fun

I've been mountain biking since I was around 10 or 11 years old, sharing trails with friends, my dad, and my uncles. Back then, it was all about the sheer joy of it; exercise was the furthest thing from my mind. Fast forward to today, and I've come to understand that physical health isn't just important—it's one of our top priorities.

Throughout my career, I've crisscrossed the country and even ventured internationally to explore the concept of priorities. I've had the privilege of interviewing over 1000 business owners, and one consistent message has emerged: physical health is the cornerstone of overall well-being. It's not just about physical health; it's intricately tied to our spiritual and mental well-being. Physical health is holistic, and it touches every aspect of our lives.

Making Exercise Enjoyable

I get it, though. Many of us struggle to find time for exercise amidst our hectic lives. That's why I want to share my secret to staying active and loving it, even at the age of 43. It all comes down to doing what you love.

Now, I realize that not everyone is head over heels in love with exercise. But here's the thing: you can make it enjoyable. Think back to your high school days. Remember what you loved doing? Many of us enjoyed team sports. While it might not be possible to relive those glory days in a league, you can still find ways to infuse enjoyment into your exercise routine.

For me, it's all about mountain biking. It's not just a hobby; it's my way of life. I've committed to keeping it central to my routine for as long as I can. But even when I can't hit the trails, I find alternatives like a quick run. Running might not be my favorite activity, but I do it with the goal of improving my biking stamina.

I also believe in the power of cross-training with weights. I tailor my workouts to prepare my body for the rigors of mountain biking. This not only keeps me fit but also engages my mind, knowing I'm conditioning myself for my favorite outdoor pursuit.

There's a psychological aspect to exercise that's often underestimated. When I'm on the mountain, I relish the mental challenge as much as the physical one. It's a mind game, and I've learned to love it.

So, the key takeaway is simple: find an activity you love and weave it into your life. It doesn't have to be mountain biking or outdoor adventures; it's your choice. Set goals, track your progress, and stay motivated. Your goal doesn't have to be a race; it could be a dream trip or a special experience you're looking forward to.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, don't feel guilty for enjoying your workouts. Allow yourself to have fun while staying active. Your physical health is a priority, and your body appreciates the effort. The benefits are undeniable, and you'll enjoy experiences like my unforgettable trips to Deer Valley and Costa Rica throughout your life—all because you invested in your health.

Thank you for joining me on this journey towards balanced growth and a healthy, happy life. Stay active, stay passionate, and remember: you deserve to have fun along the way!
